Synopsis

Early careers in digital and IT is more than just getting a degree or professional qualification especially if interested in an ICT based career. There are many people now looking to reskill or upskill in order to transition to digital and IT roles or some change from a previous role to something new where they need support and training.

What are the trends and opportunities from a recruitment perspective that are valuable for a transition into digital and IT teams? From skills bridges for those transitioning, adult education for those upskilling to apprenticeships and the role of the Institute of Technologies for those starting out – this session will give you some ideas of what you can do next.

About the speakers

 

Director at Harvey Nash and Board Member at Nash Squared Global Innovation Lab Board. As part of his role, he is head of the contracts recruitment business at Harvey Nash in Scotland, and manages the Scottish Public Sector Interim Frameworks. Graeme has an IT graduate from Edinburgh Napier University, and has personal interest in technology. He enjoys working with candidates and creating solutions for different clients.

Graeme has significant experience delivering and managing recruitment campaigns for start-ups with tight budgets, to large corporates with high volume requirements and strict SLA's.

     
 

Stella is currently an AVP with one of the Finance Companies in the UK in her capacity as a Business Process Designer and Software Developer. In addition to a Master’s degree in Mobile Applications from the University of Bradford, Stella prides herself as a Microsoft Specialist, MCSD, MCDP (SharePoint), MCSA, MCTS, MCP, OCA, and Certified Java Developer. She takes delight in building capacity with over 10 years experience in the Tech space through coaching and mentoring.
