Synopsis

The session will explore what public procurement rules are, how they affect a contracting bodies. The approach which public sector need to adopted to stay legal within the rules and the effect this has on ICT procurement. We then look at strategic approaches which can help with ICT procurement and the changes EU Procurement rules and the impact this may have.

About the speaker

 

Stuart began his IT Career in a FM provider undertaking IT maintenance on desktop and service infrastructure in the early 1990’s. Held various ICT roles globally in pharmaceutics, media, public sector and financial services sectors till early noughties. In 2001 setup an IT consultancy business, targeting SME ICT Infrastructure management with a skew towards security design in base operating infrastructure. 2006 onwards his career move towards management of supply chains which support ICT delivery. Working in Higher Education, Fire Rescue, Public regulator in various roles delivering contracts for ICT project and on-going operationally requirement. Currently holds MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain from Heriot-Watt University is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and Chartered IT Professional.
