Equipment and Systems for Disabled Users

Anne-Marie Boyle and Dionne Waltham, AbilityNet Scotland

Wednesday 11th February 2004, 6:30 pm (refreshments available from 6:15 pm)

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society, 36 York Place, Edinburgh EH1 3HU (street map)

This talk will cover AbilityNet - who we are and what we do. This is computing for people with physical, sensory and learning difficulties. There will be a general presentation of the alternative and adaptive equipment available; what is available for free and on the computer already (e.g. Windows accessibility options).

Some equipment will be on display and people will have an opportunity to try a few things out.

The speakers

Anne-Marie Boyle has been with AbilityNet Scotland since 2001 as Assessor/technical trainer.

Dionne Waltham has been with AbilityNet since 2002 and at AbilityNet Scotland since November 2003 as consultant/assessor.

They both deal with all aspects of AbilityNet's work - assessing individuals, making presentations, leading teaching/training seminars and courses on alternative and adaptive equipment and software.
