About the speaker

Alisdair Gunn (alisdair.gunn@innovationcentre.org) received his B.Eng(Hons) degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in 1989 and is a Chartered Engineer of The Institution of Electrical Engineers. Alisdair has over 14 years experience in operational, marketing and project management in global product development organisations such as Agilent Technologies, Hewlett Packard and Philips.

From 1989 to 1995 he worked at Philips Business Communications where he developed his technical experience in ISDN and digital communications. From 1995 to 2003 he worked at Hewlett Packard where he developed test systems for Wireless and Mobile Communication Networks. Thereafter he worked at Agilent Technologies (former division of Hewlett Packard) where he managed the development of Next Generation test systems for Broadband Wireless and fixed Optical Networks.

Alisdair currently holds the position of Wireless Programme Manager and is responsible for developing Scotland’s National Wireless Centre, based at Hillington Park Innovation Centre. Funded by Scottish Enterprise Renfrewshire and European Regional Development Fund, the centre is focussed on the economic growth of Scottish Companies involved in developing new and existing Mobile & Wireless products within this global market.
